Happy International Women's Day
It was the International Women's Day yesterday (which is about two hours ago when I blogging this). And it was the significant day of the oppositional party in Malaysia three years ago. And it also refers to a "Freedom Striving Day". I saw a news in Sinchew Daily (online) and there is an article regarding women in the Middle East countries who stand out to the street and fight for their freedom, from ladies dressed in T-shirt and jeans to ladies who in black Hijab.
I felt extremely touching when I saw the word of "hijab". I have always read that Muslim women are conservative and they are just obey to their husband. To them, freedom is nothing and perhaps impossible for them in their whole life. However, when I read this, I know women nowadays, are empowered.
Women are trying to stand up and saying that " We are actually capable and we have our right to decide our faith and even involve in the movement of transforming the world."
Women's right, is to enjoy the basic liberty like men enjoying. Everyone are equal and share the common perception and mindset, but not only all about men, in a country. I feel appreciated as the country that I stay does not have such restrictions.
Yet, to clarify, many women who chasing for women's right, mistaken the rights as to control men, to step them under women's feet. To ask them obeying to women. This is something that I strongly disagree with, though I am a lady (not woman yet), and I even despising it. This is no longer called women's right but women's arrogant. We shout for equality between man and woman, but those are practicing the contrary behaviour. Then what is equality?
I understand, in some ways, woman couldn't alike man, in terms of physical strength for example. However, in this technology booming era, everything can be overcame with just a "click" or in this civilize society, everything is not a problem with a brain.
Equality and freedom....Let us work together to accomplish a society with equality and freedom.
And it is time for me to get back in my assignment. All the best~
Sentence of the week
The sentence that impressed me a lot this week is not " Go fuck yourself with your atom boom" which I heard from Communication Law lecturer but " I know you guys don't like politics" from the lecturer of Politics and the Media.
It sounds sarcastic especially when words came from Mr. Kuan who showed us the website of "Lao Zha Bo" from Singapore later and said we like that kind of website than political's.
Although I know many students on the spot are actually enthusiastic in Politics yet at the same time, many people are sharing the mindset like what Mr. Kuan said. I could not admit that I chose to minor in Advertising because of my hatred toward politics and frightened of the evil face of the politicians. Yet I just can't deny that I have started falling in love with Politics, of course not involving but studying.
Nonetheless, the zeal still could not pull me out from the hatred of politics, especially the incident happened currently that made me questioning the trustworthiness of a politician. Yet as a professional journalist (to-be), I will not resist from taking any job that deal with politicians (such as interviewing them), and I will try my best to uphold the profession of a journalist.
"Jama" (Jamaluddin Ibrahim) has established an online radio channel which named "DurianFm.com". The concept of the radio channel is good which is to uphold the basic liberty of the people- Freedom of speech. As one who cherished for freedom, I am fully supporting him (that I have even purposely search for the radio channel website and click "like"). However, I sincerely hope that he can keep his concept straight. Freedom of speech doesn't mean to attacking government. It is about objectivity and telling the truth. It is pretty annoying if the media criticizing one just because to criticize but ignoring one's contributions. Then it is nothing different from the mainstream media which controlled by the ruling party. Then it is not more what we call it "Freedom of speech". Let's wish "DurianFm.com" to operate smoothly and successfully achieve their mission.
Let's sama-same upholding our basic liberty~
Freedom, long live~

Keep the root...
Our former neighbour visited us last night. It is an Indian family. The only way for us, the two families to keep in touch is when the festive season come and we tend to visit each others' house every year. We went to their house during Deepavali and vice versa that they visit us during Chinese New Year even though we have moved out from Taman Andalas where we stayed previously.
Uncle Morgan, the father of the family is a nice old man ( who actually not looking old). He talked a lot to my brother last night, about politic. I hate politic. My hatred towards it can be seen through my selection of minoring Advertising instead of political science. However, I do love to listen political issues as an entertainment.
I feel pleasure too when listening people around me talk about politic. I, sometimes hate myself for being so dislike politic and so unfamiliar with the politic, especially Malaysia's politic, but I can't help. Thus when I know people around me are care of the politic of Malaysia, I am indeed happy for them. At least someone care for the country.
This is same to the conversation between Uncle Morgan and my brother. Uncle Morgan who as an Indian. felt the inequality of the races, in terms of any application from government, power to speak and so on. He was disappointed with the government and also care of the population of Chinese and Indian. He has even encouraged my sister and brother to get marry and give birth in order to increase the population of our root.
However, to the dismay, many people, especially Chinese, refuse to have more kids due to the financial burden and also their own freedom. They feel that their freedom is being tied after having kids. Some, even do not want to get marry, to pursue their dream.
Many Chinese nowadays refuse to receive Chinese education. One of my Primary school classmate even said that he doesn't want to study Chinese. When every Chinese in our country holds this perception, will there any Chinese school or Chinese based organisation be conducted in our country? Is Chinese New Year will be celebrated in Malaysia anymore? The blood of Chinese is flowing in our body. The mind of Chinese we are having, though being modernized. We should always be proud of being a Chinese, and even be proud of being a Malaysian.
My brother told us that many Chinese intend to move oversea. They said Malaysia does not appreciate genius. However, they will never know how the foreign countries look at whom are moving to their country. Even though they are rich enough to move to their country yet they will only be the second class resident of the country, always.
I wonder, if this circumstance sustains and not get any improved, what will be happened to our Chinese community in the future.

To all passengers, lady couch is only for ladies. Men are prohibited to enter. If not, the officer will take action. Thanks.

Bribe-Free Malaysian
I saw this sticker pasted on a car somewhere in my taman today. I found it cute, don't you?
Bribe, it is such a common word or attitude we can see here in our country
We always point our finger to the "guardian" of our country and also the authority.
Put away authority, it is somewhere I do not want to comment and not able to.
Talk about our guardian, it is true somehow.
When we got caught of speeding or driving in "so-called" wrong manner, they fined us
Yet before the saman ticket being issued, there is another procedure of stretching hand under the ticket
And people squeezing in the "head of agung" under the ticket
When we pointed to the "guardian", why don't we look at ourself as well?
Do we willing to let them bribe?
We accused them for bribery and bombarded our hatred towards them
Yet do we hate ourselves when bribing them?
Don't people always bribing them in order to pay less?
We, in fact, are the one who help nurturing this phenomenon...
To build a bribe-free Malaysia, it is a long way to go.
To bring it succeed, we ourselves shall hold hand and work it together but not keep accusing people (thou they are the major culprit)
Shall proceed my study plan, all the best!

Hey!There's my university~
Jool Bro asked me to view a link he posted in Facebook yesterday. He said that there is something our respectably Mr.F told him yesterday about his plan.
I read the news then. It is regarding the donation at which a philanthropist whose name is Koon Yew Yin intended to donate money with RM30 million to UTAR, my university. The money is donated for the hostel building when students in UTAR got to pay more than RM300 for their rental fees (I meant Westlake house). It sounds great, isn't it?![]() |
The A block building of UTAR(took from internet) |
However, what a waste, our honorable UTAR high management, as well as MCA casted the fabulous money off...
I remembered what my senior told me before. She said that there is someone(forget his name already) who owns the land of new town. All shoplots in new town are under his name, as well as the westlake residence area where most of the UTAR students stay. Now you know the reason why UTAR turn out Koon's money.
It has been so ridiculous when I recalled what people said before. People said that enter UTAR is good due to the cheaper tuition fees.
UTAR is a semi government school so the fees will be cheaper
Yes, exactly. It is cheaper if compared with other colleges
Yet why they now using this opportunity to earn students' money?
Why don't they decrease the students' expenses as lesser as possible? In contrast, they tended to earn students' money,
They played the role as a businessman but not as one who involved in education
This has been sarcastic when they tend to earn money from the poor student espexially when most of the students are chinese(i am not trying to be racism)
Yet what on earth they are doing? When most of the chinese students unable to enter government university then they chose UTAR where they think the tuition fees is affordable
And now MCA uses UTAR as a instrument to earn students' or their people money
When the election draws near, the people will stand out and say" We as the chinese, should mingle each other. We should work together to achieve our goal. Thus vote me"
When it is the critical period, sweet words is heard and honey promised is given
This is the society where we are living nowadays...
Since we are all labelled as Malaysian
we shall put our effort in building the nation but not talk only on the paper and never walk the promised
To make our nation better, the first is to think for the people instead of think of ourselves
Now, I am waiting for the follow up news of this issue
It will be quite interesting I guessed?

I saw the news few weeks ago yet I kept forgetting to blog this up to my place. As my perception, I think it is a necessary to talk about this issue, this event maybe. I took all these photo from Malaysiakini.com in order to make my piece more colourful by putting up those pictures.
As you can see from the picture above, the people were reading newspaper up side down, one even put the TV tool on his head. What are they doing? In fact, with World Press Freedom onward, they were having a protest(Sport Reading Mainstream Newspaper Upside down -translate from mandarin), to against media self-censorship, to "bebaskan media". Mainstream media nowadays tends to be more biased and pro government in their news report as the result of ownership and political economy control (political economy theory..haha). This has seriously threaten the credibility and reliability of the news nowadays and curtailed our right to access to the issues, as well as our freedom of expression and speech.
As a student of Journalism, we understand the structure and the hidden fact in the media industry, but not the common public, not the average people. Public who did not go for higher education, they do not understand the fact. They always believe the newspaper, as it is the only path for them to access to news.
Some young people todays do not care of the society, the politic tactics, as well believe to mainstream media though they have a better way by going to internet news portal. The problem is, who in fact going online for news? Unless they play the role of MSN or providing games as what Facebook did.
As I think, we have the responsibility to uphold the media freedom, therefore protect access to credible and reliable news(truth).Only with the well educated (either with the academic or the news), Malaysia can have a more mature society and political environment.
The former NTV7 producer of Edisi Siasat(if not mistaken), Huang Yi Chung and TV2 《前线视窗》's producer, Zhou Ze Nan have joined the protest as well. As they concern of the media, they concern of the people's right. So why don't we?
![]() |
(Left) Huang Yi Chung and Zhou Ze Nan |
As Huang said, the flashmob will be having the protest every weekend, in order to raise the awareness of the public towards the issue of media freedom, as well as to inform them the 528 media changed aniversary(528报变周年纪念日 ). As the information, 28th of May, 2001 was the day at which Huaren Holding took control of Nanyang press and the start point for politic interfered chinese newspaper.
For you who concern about the media in Malaysia, let's join the "celebration" together. Let's reject for the paper for one day. Let's stop watching news for one day.
P/s: Lucky me, I have got a chance to hear talk from Huang Yi Chung. Though I was sleepy that time yet I still manage to catch what he said that time. He is one who deserved for our respect for his effort in upholding media freedom.

I saw a news today. News that sickening the public. There was another teen shooting case happened in our country, again, after close to a fortnight.
The first incident was happened on 26 April 2010 in Shah Alam. According to The Star, Aminulrasyid Amzah, 15, was shot dead by police.Look, there is by no others but the police who served as a protector of the public, the person who defend the harmony and safety of our society. I found this is ridiculous when I first saw the news. The boy is just a 15 years old teenager, he has a bright future, he has lot to learn. However, now he was announced to dead under the bloody hands of the police.
While the previous case is still under investigation and while the outrage of the public are not played down yet, another boy, Mohd Azizi, 17, was shot by a patrol police in Seremban, around 3.30am while riding his motorcycle illegally.
Fortunately, this boy is luckier than Aminulrasyid, he managed to survive after the shot by the policeman to his hip.
First thing first, we should not have denied that the two boys are innocent. In fact, they did wrong. They should not have driven/ride the car/motorcycle illegal. Their act might endanger other cyclists on the road and threaten the traffic safety.
Yet, as we all know, they are only a not more than 18-year-old boys. Why is the police acted so cruel to the boy? The boys should not ran away from the police car but there is no reason for the police to shot them?
I heard from somebody that police can only open fire if there is urgency which threaten other's or their life and safety. Through the incident, I don't see any dangerous might happen to them that they have to shoot 20 times to the car. Funny.
I think most of all people, have once written policeman as their ambitions, so do I. But, the question is, is this the police we want to be?
I used to hoping to be a police who fight for justice, protect the safety and security of the public, as well as one who is respectable. This is what make police so important and attractive. So how do you think of the police nowadays? Do they have the characteristics you longed to be?
I think of something quite reasonable recently. Well, people previously scared of meeting bad people, gangster while they were outing, driving. Yet, people nowadays should be aware of the policeman while driving. You might have to pay bribe for a saman with all kinds of reason clarified by the police.
So, who is the one who threaten our security nowadays?

Break News of 26/6/2009
"Michael Jackson was pronounced died"
No any news is more shock, causing more sensation than this.
I heard the news this morning when I was on the way to my morning class. It is like a thunder beating on me that I found it hard to accept the fact.Is it true?Is it Michael Jackson the pop king has really left the world so unaware?
I was too eager to reach UTAR to pass the break news to my friends. This is the journalism student's soul.Unsurprisingly, they all were shocked by the news of M. Jackson's death. However they didn't seem react sad or feel sympathy toward his death.Perhaps this is because they are not admire him before. But I do.
M. Jackson was my idol during my childhood, probably during my primary school age.I like him due to the influence from my father. We bought his casette which was affordable for us.I listen to his songs over and over, even until fell asleep.
Pass through the hundred years, the addiction towards him became lesser and lesser.I have even forgot his songs. The notobly news regarding him make the world criticize him or even sued him to court.I have never hate him as I know I love him only when he is in his music career.
I got back home after the afternoon class."You are not alone"I heard M. Jackson's voice.I have almost forgotten,we got a M.J fans here in the house. He looked sorrow, seriously. And was regretting not buying his doll before the price increasing. The lecturers were discussing his death today at university as well.He brought a big impact to the public,to the society. He is really a successful music man.
M. Jackson, the well-known pop king died in his 50-year-old when I am doing my Y1S2(26/6/2009) Jr course in UTAR that I will never forget it.

虽然有时去CPM(Cheras Pasar Malam)时,我是最快把手边垃圾落手的。。
加油。。

This is the 1st time the Negro been the president in USA...
It shows the democracy of USA...
On the other hand, why not Malaysian Chinese?
Why Malaysian always think that only Malay can be the leader of the country but not other religion's local Malaysian?
We born locally in Malaysia...but why somehow we were treated like foreigner?
Our rights are totally different compared with Malay,Indian's is even worse...
In education, business n etc...Malays have the priority to have the best...
Then the remaining after that are left for Chinese then Indian...
This is really inequitable...
Our government should give them an opportunity being independent but not rely to the priority..
Nevertheless...this seems unchangeable...
so...we just have to rely to ourselves...
However...i love M'sia...
a beautiful country...a non-natural disaster country...
I love u so much...
